Update #4

Hello brilliant beings! Finally back from Ukraine and re-aligning, I am overwhelmed by how much Your donations have helped. Ill be updating this fundraiser quite a bit with photos and stories! Because of You we have now evacuated thousands of people, over 100 pets, 500 lgbtq individuals and many many elders, BIPOC, disabled folx and more. At this stage, I find us in a humbling and dire situation. With May 9th swiftly approaching and the borders tightening to bar even more people, we are experiencing a massive crisis. Disabled men (and disabled Ukrainians with an M on their passports) are being prevented from leaving the country. Deemed not disabled enough for a "white slip" yet "too disabled to serve yet" they are stuck in awful conditions that we have been desperately working towards improving. Limited if any medications for mental health and almost zero options outside of Advil to treat chronic pain. Often sleeping in the ground outside or 10+ to a single bedroom, even with their pets. Trapped by the cruelty of the assumption that "men are more fit to suffer war and therefore may not leave". We are at the point where we need to fund a couple of safe houses specifically for these individuals within Ukraine.

There's nothing for them. Their homes gone, no employment available, food/shelter goes to women and children first/only, no medications or food for their pets. We want to make that right. With an additional $10,000 raised we can provide a safe house in three cities capable of compassionately housing + feeding up to 90 people for the next month. We will assign every individual a case manager and work towards getting them medical aid and a legal option to leave the nation.

Additionally, we are fundraising to cover the cost of drivers and busses from red zones to evacuate people prior to May 9th in the case that there is a catastrophic series of carpet bombings to "claim victory".

We also have some LGBTQ evacuees with pets who can not afford the medical care necessary. You can validate on my IG platform for instance that today we needed to cover the dental surgery of an evacuated cat who was the only companion of one of our LGBTQ evacuees.

From holocaust survivors to BIPOC foreign nationals. our team is doing an extraordinary job ensuring that not a single person who reaches out to us is left without someone to help them.

But while $107,000 seems like a lot of money, because we have evacuated, sheltered, and fed thousands of people over the past month- it has been entirely used.

If You have the ability to donate even just $5 again that would be absolutely incredible. Or even share this fundraiser. We know that war fatigue has hit- but during this phase of the process its the worst time to be without evacuation funds because the cases we are now caring for are in more desperate circumstances than any of the cases from even a few weeks ago.

Update #3

Hello everyone! We have had quite a big day yesterday- hundreds of people needing guidance nad encouragement to flee their homes and run for the train. Many of them, like Dima here- had pets and without a proper carrier were worried they couldnt take them. But they braved it an most made it onto trains out of the city. We had several foreign national bipoc individuals get rejected on the platform in favor of national ukrainians which was challenging to navigate but we managed to get everyone on a trian in the end. Today we are handling far more calls for help in places where extraction isnt possible- and its a real struggle.

As a result I am personally flying out to Poland on Sunday to take a rescue vehicle with a small team into Ukraine- we will be working in the Kyiv area and then transport people form lviv to poland.

Apologies for the typos- we are slammed so Im writing this as fast as possible. Will keep updated. ASLO big shout out to Vice and Democracy now for covering our work with trans individuals. Appreciation

Update #2

Hi everyone we are absolutely swamped this morning over 80 requests for evactuations almost entirely disabled, pregant and elderly individuals. Many foreign national students. Its a mess- no one has died on our watch yet and of the 80 we still only have 16 pending gudiance/ride to the train. Will update with video and photos soon. Wish us luck- every minute counts. For family in odessa- it is now a RED ZONE city as of this morning. Please conisder heading to the border immediately or to Lviv. We have housing for up to 80 individuals in Lviv and can help- send me a message to RAINDOVEMODEL on IG. for assistance. Sorry for typos chaos
