Some people know me online as the digital artist Gorefont, my name is Tomás and I'm raising funds for my top surgery on September 18th!
What is Top Surgery?
I'm glad you asked; Top Surgery or a Double Mastectomy surgery is a life saving medically necessary surgery performed on the chest as part of gender reassignment, especially to remove breast tissue and produce a masculine appearance of the chest. For a lot of transgender people it helps alleviate a massive portion of dysphoria and a major source of mental anguish.
I have been an out transgender person since 2012, and I started Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) in December of 2016, it has been a major goal for me to get top surgery and I've been saving for the entire time! Unfortunately, life happens. I was struck by a vehicle as a pedestrian in 2020 as a hit and run and it took a lot of my funds, then COVID happened and I lost even more. It's been an unfortunate few years eating into my savings but now I am finally here!
I have a surgery date with Dr. Navad Sajan at Allure Esthetic on September 18th 2024, I have already paid my down payment and insurance has pre approved me! I have a 20% co insurance fee which will put my total cost now so $2,706.81 out of pocket- an amazing price, most top surgery can range from $8-12k in the United States
The $3,200 goal is to help cover my costs of living while I am recovering from surgery, but any amount donated is an exceptional help towards making my life a little bit easier!
