Thank you for supporting our 2014 Scarf Bomb Jax campaign. To be sure that we're ready well in advance this year, we are beginning to kick out the donations for the 3rd Annual 2015 Scarf Bomb Jax Campaign.
If you'd like to donate you can visit the new fundly campaign here: https://fundly.com/scarf-bomb-jax-2015/
And we have started a Facebook page here, too: https://www.facebook.com/ScarfJax so you can stay up to date.
We are also setting up donation boxes for yarn, hats, gloves that our community is gifting, too. I'll keep you posted.
And eventually we'll be setting up a Volunteers page to help coordinate the volunteer efforts.
I am so honored that you continue to support keeping folks warm in winter. THANK YOU!

WE DID IT... Well, YOU DID IT. Your donations have funded more than 400 scarves. This morning I made my final run to the fabric store and when these are completed we will have given more than 400 scarves.
IT'S SPREADING.
Young DANIEL is making scarves in Canton, GA - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyxXu1V84bo
Barb is making scarves in DENVER, CO.
Shawna is making scarves in MICHIGAN.
I have other folks who have contacted me privately who are making a difference with scarves, blankets, and other gifts in their own communities.
My heart is overflowing.
In the Jacksonville area scarves have been distributed from Neptune Beach to Orange Park.
I'm even mailing a few Arizona by special request.
Yesterday my cousin brought her children to go scarf bombing with us and her daughter was able to personally give a scarf to someone who needed it, and he was VERY GRATEFUL. And her Mom says it made a big impact on this little girl. HOORAY. You made that happen.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

When I started this, I hoped to have your help in making 100 scarves. To date, because of YOU, we could 'scarf bomb' and hand out 101 scarves - in addition to the 15 I did that got the media's attention.
I am truly touched by your generosity, warmth, and caring. THANK YOU!
With just a few days left we now have raised enough money for nearly 250 scarves. And I am just blown away.
Yesterday we "scarf bombed" and handed out scarves all around the urban core: Trinity Rescue Mission, City Rescue Mission, RAM, Treaty Oak, Southbank at Friendship Fountain, Main Street Bridge, Northbank at the Times Union Center, Riverside Park, and Bold Bean. The last few were handed to a man at a bus stop, a family who spoke no English, and a gentleman walking by on the Westside. We were met with appreciation and 'thank you's. One woman said, "Oh really? Thank you I've been wanting a scarf, thank you." And she waved wildly as we drove away.
YOU MADE THIS HAPPEN. There have been posts saying that I've done this, but that's not true, I am not alone in this. I've done the cutting and the distributing, but it is YOU that really made it happen. YOU drove this past 15 scarves, YOU tweeted and shared and reposted. YOU got others interested. YOU kept the story alive. YOU donated money. YOU made the difference. And I am truly grateful.
Thank YOU!

Today I took a trip to JoAnn, to begin purchasing fleece to make scarves.
39 scarves were distributed around Jacksonville, FL.
We drove to Jacksonville Beach and left some at Oceanfront Park, The Amphitheater, on the Surfer statues in front of City Hall, and at the Jacksonville Pier. We tried to give scarves to 3 different people there, but no one would take them.
We then drove downtown and left scarfs on bus benches and handed them out to people in Hemming Plaza, Main Street Park, and behind the Sulzbacher Center. One person even leapt from the car they're living in to ask for a scarf, barefooted, in the cold.
Hours have passed, I am in my warm home and I am still cold.
I was only outside, in and out of a warm car for a couple of hours. I have an even greater appreciation for the simple blessing of warmth.
Thank you for helping me have that appreciation.
Now I'm off to make more scarves and so together we can reach more people tomorrow.
Good Night and Thank you!
