Library Dances Presents "Zorro" with SBJHS

From Cecily Stewart

Today, students need arts education and positive role models more than ever. Library Dances can provide both by bringing State Street Ballet dancers alongside Santa Barbara Junior High students in "The Legend of Zorro".

Update #6

Great news! We raised $450 in just the last few hours thanks to Mairead Johnson, Denise Caracas, and Galen MacDougall! Now we are well on our way to that $6,000 mark. Thank you to everyone that has contributed so far!

In other news, the students are doing a great job with their choreography, practicing on their own time, and really getting into character! Wish them luck as they take the next week off for Spring Break and hopefully come back to rehearsal rested and ready to dance!

Update #5

The good news: We had a fabulous time at the Painted Cabernet last week and earned over $400!
The bad news: Even with the $400 we are still almost $4,000 short of our goal and with only 20 days to raise the funds to make "The Legend of Zorro" happen.
The good news: You can help! The easiest way is to make a tax-deductible donation directly on our Fundly page. If giving is not an option please share the love by telling your friends about us, sharing our Facebook posts, and the campaign. Please do your good deed for the day and donate, like, or share "The Legend of Zorro" with Santa Barbara Junior High!

Update #4

We are so grateful to our latest supporters Milly Colahan, Sandra Stingle, and Ann Pizzinat for helping us get to $1860 today! We are well on our way to that $6,000 goal and could not be more grateful to everyone who has given towards this wonderful arts education program. In other news, check out these kids dancing onstage for the first time. For weeks they have been cramped in the classroom and yesterday they got to experience having real space to move! They are looking awesome!

TGIF and happy Friday to everyone! We are ecstatic to announce that we have raised almost 30% of our $6,000 goal! Thank you so much to Jan, Coleen, Nicole, Maureen, and Hank, for ensuring that our public schools have top-notch arts programming. We are honored to work with Santa Barbara Junior High students on this project and so grateful to you for making it possible!

Update #2

Wow! We are well on our way to being fully funded now that we have hit the $1200 mark. Thank you to Tracy Richardson, Caroline MacDougall, and Stephen Kelly, our most recent sponsors. This performance of Zorro is going to be an action-packed combination of theater and dance and we can't wait to get this exciting story on stage!
