Unfortunately we were involved in a major 4 car accident. Between Ox's low paying AmeriCorps stipend, our inability to work, and my medical complications following the crash, we're low on funds to fix the aftermath.

With all of your help, I was able to purchase a car. I received approval for a loan, but they only let me borrow a certain amount. I want to explain that I did look for a mid-size SUV. It was more expensive than a smaller car that would have been in worse condition. I don't want to be in a situation again where I don't feel safe in my car. The damage to my car and our physical injuries would have been significantly better if we were in a bigger and better conditioned car. The rate of accidents here in RI is too high for me to feel comfortable taking chances. Bills for Ubers and time spent on the bus between my two jobs, and not clocking in, was building. With this car, things feel easier. Corey didn't have to walk 45 minutes to work this morning because I could drive them at 5:45AM. I can drive home within 15 minutes from the Boys & Girls Club instead of an hour bus ride after a 12 hour day. Thank you.

This past week has been the climax of all of this worry and stress. It was a hard realization to see how much more expensive cars are here than in the Midwest. I've come to terms with how damaged my physical body is finally, and how much I need physical therapy. I think I can finally comprehend how difficult this has been for Corey too. They're re-concussed now, after seizing in the shower last night. We're resilient, but we're scared.
