Atom's Vet Bills

From Julie Stukey

I am fundraising for my husky, Atom, who has been struggling with GI symptoms since mid-February. We recently filed for bankruptcy and do not have the credit to pay upfront costs for additional diagnostics and treatment.

Thank you for supporting Atom -- we appreciate all of the thoughts, concerns, and assistance. Please go to https://www.gofundme.com/manage/atoms-vet-bills for future donations as we are no longer using Fundly.

Refunds have been issued to donors who initially used Fundly, please let me know if you have questions.

Update #1

Atom is a 12-year old Siberian Husky who has volunteered with the elderly, teenagers in group homes, and at 911 dispatch centers for over five years, and was a volunteer canine blood donor for over eight years. He has been struggling with GI upset, lethargy, inappetance, and elevated liver and pancreatic enzymes since mid-February, and he has not responded to the standard treatments. His liver enzymes are still going up and his lethargy and inappetance have gotten worse over the past week.

In addition to recently facing costs of moving, Kevin and I both recently needed to file for bankruptcy and we do not have access to credit to pay the up front costs of the additional diagnostics that Atom needs to determine the possible causes of his symptoms, or the costs of any additional treatments that he might need. We are asking for help paying these costs to help determine if there is anything additional that can be done to help Atom feel better; if insurance reimburses, we plan to reimburse at least 90% to donors (the amount that his Petsbest insurance reimburses).

We appreciate any help in advance as Atom has not only helped others over his life but he is also the center of our world. Even if your help does not involve a donation but involves sharing this post with others, we would be very grateful.
