My 6-year-old son's Christian elementary school holds an annual jog-a-thon to fund it's Worthy Student scholarships. I'll run a lap for every $10 he raises here, up to 50 laps!

This cute little Seventh-day Adventist elementary school sits on a hill in the Southern California community of Newbury Park. Students come from a huge variety of cultural and economic backgrounds, and many have their tuition subsidized via the Worthy Student Fund. The annual jog-a-thon, held each November, is the primary fundraiser for those scholarships.
So, instead of trudging around my office asking co-workers to sponsor him per lap (when they have their own kids and grandkids doing the same event), I thought I'd get involved and spread the love. So, the more money he raises, the better his prizes and the more laps I have to run along side him. I am no runner; I'm a near-40 mom with a desk job who would do well do a lot more jog-a-thons.
