Wajenzi Circle

From Ayodele Duduyemi

This fall, I’ll be attending New York Institute of Technology to study architecture. Your gifts will support me with covering the school costs that my Presidential scholarship does not meet.

Why I’m Inviting You In

The word Wajenzi means building in Swahili. It’s not just about blueprints and structures, it’s about futures, families, and freedom. The Wajenzi Circle is a community of people who believe in my calling, and who I am accountable to as I learn, design, and grow.

Our Goal: $20,000 by July 31st

This will help cover the real costs of school that scholarships don’t fully meet:

    •    Housing and travel

    •    Meals, materials, and technology

    •    Tuition gaps and unexpected needs

Your support lets me walk forward into New York Tech’s Honors Program with clarity, and stay focused on building something that serves our people. This is not just a fundraiser. It’s a foundation. A sacred agreement between me and the village that has shaped me, and that I will serve.

Give Once or Monthly, You Choose

You can give monthly or make a one-time gift, both are deeply appreciated and equally honored. Your tier is based on the total amount you’re giving across the year. Each tier includes thank-you gifts from me and a way for us to stay connected as I move through school and continue building.

Whether you give once or monthly, this is a relationship, not a transaction. And I will be walking with you, just like you’re walking with me.

Why Me?

I was introduced to architecture in middle school at AYA Educational Institute. It was an introductory class, and it was one of my favorites because I got to draw so much. Soon after, I decided to become an architect. At first all I wanted was to make my own visions into reality, but I soon decided that I didn't just want to be an architect for myself. I want to be an architect for others as well. I have always admired that my family has figured out a way to help other people and still help themselves, and I want to continue that tradition using architecture. I want to create structures that will be unique and respect the environment.

Why Now?

This year, race-based scholarships are disappearing. HBCUs are being targeted. Accreditation systems are shifting under our feet. I got in. I got offers. And I still need my people. The Wajenzi Circle is how I stay connected to those who made me, and those I am building for.

What You’re Building With Me

This isn’t just financial support. This is a relationship. You’re helping me walk into this chapter not as someone leaving my people behind, but as someone who is learning how to build for them.

Select a tier to give once or monthly. When you select a tier that allows you to contribute monthly, you must also check the Contribute Each Month box.  You’ll be welcomed, honored, and kept close as I move forward.

Thank you.

Not just for believing in me, but for being part of what I’m building.
