Despite the COVID 19 crisis Opportunity Zone (OZ) entrepreneurs and investors are moving forward with revitalization projects and innovative public-private partnerships. This live virtual event highlights the people who are leading OZ initiatives in Baltimore. Panelists will share federal policy implications, strategies, insights, market information. and the impact their projects are having in low-income neighborhoods.

 Created in 2017 as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the Opportunity Zones program provides federal tax incentives for investment in low-income communities. Over 8,700 Opportunity zones have been designated by the US Treasury Department across the nation. Of the 149 census tracts in Maryland that the U.S. Department of Treasury has identified as Opportunity Zones, 42 are in Baltimore City.
