On Friday, July 4th, seventeen year old Thomas Biggs disappeared within yards of his family's cabin on the Wisconsin River. Two days later volunteer search and rescue crews started a search of the area and found him at the bottom of a pond only feet from where he was last seen...100 yards from the cabin.
Response to persons in distress has long been an honorable and charitable tradition. The professionals in search and rescue have carried on this tradition of helping others by dedicating time, information, skills, equipment and funding to the relief of suffering. Please help give back to those who so selflessly volunteered their time and effort toward finding him...that they may find others before it is too late.
Funds raised will be distributed to:
Columbia County Sheriff's Office Dive Team -- they provide aquatic rescue and recovery in Columbia County, WI.
Whitewater Area Mounted Search Team and Rescue -- they provide equestrian search and rescue in areas that are hard to reach on foot.
The National Association for Search and Rescue -- they provide nationwide training and certification. Donations go toward materials and supplies for those who can't afford them but would like to do volunteer search and rescue.
All three organizations are 501(c)(3) non-profit charities. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Proof of contribution for tax purposes will be provided by email.
