Strides for Sienna 5K

2nd Annual “Strides for Sienna” 5K Run/Walk! 

Come join us for this Family-Friendly event that will include a FREE Kid Zone for participants, music, refreshments, and more!

WHEN:  Sunday, September 7, 2014

Check In at 8:00am, Strides for Sienna 5K at 9:00am

WHERE: 5553 Copley Drive, San Diego, CA 92111

At your Road Runner Sports Store in San Diego- (The 3.1 mile course will start & end at Road Runner)

*For those of you who would like to check-in early, you can come to Road Runner the day before to pick up your packet & also enjoy a special discount on Road Runner merchandise to get ready for the 5K. Plus, 10% will go back to our cause! (see details below).

*The 5K is a Fun Run with No Chip Timing or Street Closures. 

A timing clock will be provided at the finish line. 

*All ages and abilities are welcome! Complete the full 5K (3.1 miles) or call it a day at the one-mile turn around.

There are multiple ways you can participate in this fun event benefiting Sienna’s PlayGarden!

• Register as an individual participant for $30 - You will have the option to create your own race fundraising page to raise your $30 entry fee OR you can just pay it yourself.  

• Register your family (up to 4 participants) for $75 - You will have the option to create your own race fundraising page to raise your $75 entry fee OR you can just pay it yourself.

Set your own fundraising goal and ask your family, friends and co-workers to donate by sharing your page through email and/or social media. Even $5 will make a difference!

Want to raise more? Prizes will be awarded to the TOP 3 fundraisers! Plus, each participant that raises $100 (Individual) or $150 (Family) will be entered into a raffle for additional prizes!

ABOUT SIENNA'S PLAYGARDEN

Sienna’s PlayGarden is a playground renovation project born out of immense love for Sienna Marie Palkovic who passed away unexpectedly in 2012. With their daughter as their inspiration, the Palkovic Family is spearheading this 

community project to revitalize Sienna’s favorite neighborhood playground at Rolling Hills Park for the children and families of the community. Initially built in the 1970s, this playground is in dire need of upgrades. With Rolling Hills Elementary School directly next door and many children living in the community, the playground is the neighborhood “hub”. The mission of Sienna's PlayGarden is to Design, Fund, and Rebuild the playground and beautify the park. For this community project, the goal is to raise approximately $200,000 for the new play equipment. Sienna’s PlayGarden has partnered with the City of San Diego to work toward the goal of a full playground renovation. Sienna's PlayGarden believes in the abundant benefits of outdoor play and hopes to create a beautiful Nature-Inspired play area to promote exercise, togetherness, and well-being!
