Hello Dear Friends, Clients, Lovers, and Fans!
Though I've been involved in the adult entertainment industry for almost six years now, I'm relatively new to the porn industry (August 2012), and am still in the process of getting my feet wet & my hands dirty, garnishing new skill sets, and carving out my own special nook in the world of queer, alternative, and BDSM erotic film. What I do know for certain is that this is my home, and I'm intending on creating a name and body of work for myself that's unique, authentic, revolutionary, and sustainable.
Last year I was fortunate enough to attend the 2013 Feminist Porn Awards & Conference in Toronto (http://www.goodforher.com/FPA-2014), and it was a life-changing event. Yes, there were the shared showers and the glitzy parties and the epic roadtrips to get there and back. There were the orgies and the alcoholic over-indulgences and the boner-inducing shorts screenings. But most importantly, I felt safe, affirmed, and energized to continue my work in a way that I hadn't experienced prior. I attended numerous classes and panels on everything from current condom legislation politics, to coming out as a sex worker to your family, to navigating social media platforms to further your brand. I met future co-stars, directors, and collaborators. For the first time in years, I set professional goals for myself within the industry, and in the ten months since then, I've met almost all of them.
So, it's time for NEW goals! This year I was accepted to co-present a workshop on "Self-Care & Allyship" at the conference with the indomitable Arabelle Raphael and Tina Horn. I'm also looking to shoot exciting new trade material while there with international performers who I otherwise wouldn't get to work with. I need YOUR help to make it to the FPAs, but I wouldn't dream of asking for it pro bono.
