MISSION:

Buy out slaughter truck of Orphaned Foals - Mares with foals - before it reaches its destination.

URGENCY:

The clock for this fundraising event is ticking and the truck will drive off August 8, 2024 with innocent lives if fundraising fails.

COST:

ANY monetary amount helps – nothing is too small and nothing is too large!

501C3 Tax Deductible.

DETAILS:

Equine slaughter houses are banned in the US for now. The topic comes up yearly in Congress to be addressed. In the meantime, American and Tribal horses are funneled through kill pens and certain auctions (whose policing vary by state) into the slaughter pipeline outside of the US.

Healthy horses with potential find themselves loaded into livestock trailers not designed for horses, are not fed or given water, travel for days on end without a chance to move, and unload in Mexico or Canada to be brutally processed. The purpose is for international dinner plates and other. Thanks to Temple Grandin, the cattle processing for beef is today more humane. This is absolutely not the case for the equine. It is gruesome, repulsive, and inhumane.

The not-for-profit Fortheloveofthehoof.org 501c3 is underway with a campaign to buy out a truckload of orphaned babies by August 7, 2024. The orphans have been separated from their mothers and you can guess what happened to the mothers. The orphans are headed into the kill pen/auction cycle/slaughter pipeline. Fortheloveofthehoof.org 501c3 may be lucky and be able to save some mother/foal pairs.

Fortheloveofthehoof.org 501c3 must be able to purchase the entire load from the truck all at once. This is how this goes in today's slaughter market. The funds being raised must be enough for the truck to change its mind about its profitable delivery.

The tax deductible donations are also used by this not-for-profit organization to transport the horses to their facility, provide veterinary care, vaccinate, deworm, and feed. All humane determinations are made by a certified veterinarian. Should Fortheloveofthehoof.org 501c3 raise funds beyond this transparent mission, all funding rolls into the organization’s budget caring for the organization’s adoptable animals and into savings to prepare for a future truckload.

This is heartfelt, grassroots, and hopeful!

Your tax deductible donations may be made at any of the multiple paths provided by Fortheloveofthehoof.org!
