Safe Haven for Our Trans Community

House of GG, the nonprofit founded by legendary trans activist Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, is raising money to build a permanent home where Transgender people can come, feel safe, and be part of a growing network of Southern trans people who are working for social justice.

As Transgender and gender-nonconforming people living in the South, we need a safe space that is just for us. 100% of your donation will go toward the purchase, renovation, and furnishing costs associated with the site to house and train our future Trans leaders of the South.

Our vision and plan, which we WILL make happen, thanks to you:

• The purchase of land and a house - an accessible retreat near Little Rock, Arkansas, with enough space to sleep 10 transgender and gender nonconforming folks FOR FREE - with transportation and meals provided by Miss Major's nonprofit, House of GG.
• In the past year, House of GG has hosted several gatherings in states around the South, renting houses and hotel rooms along the way, but this will be a PERMANENT (and cost-effective) space where Trans and gender nonconforming people who are already DOING THE WORK in their own communities can come together, get revitalized, be mentored, and share strategies - as well as pass on their wisdom to the Trans leaders of the future!
• People who make their way to the House of GG Oasis will get training by Southern Trans leaders and extended family members of Miss Major, who are already well-acquainted with organizing in the South and beyond. As many of you will know, the South is too often over-looked when it comes to resources, which is why Miss Major relocated to the central location of Little Rock, Arkansas in 2017, with the intention of creating a space specifically for Trans/GNC community.
