Richard and Diane Nares lost their only son, Emilio, to cancer when he was 6-years-old. Turning tragedy into hope, they created the Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF). ENF offers a variety of programs to support families as they navigate their child’s journey with cancer. Our flagship program, Ride With Emilio, is a transportation service that picks up families and their child with cancer, and takes them to their cancer treatment. Ride With Emilio is a life-saving program which has been recognized by the US Surgeons General and President Obama as a model program. In 2013 Richard Nares and Ride With Emilio program were highlighted as a Top 10 CNN Hero.
