What
The Rotary Childrens PlayGarden will be San Jose’s only all-access play garden for all children to be able to play side by side together, regardless of their abilities. With over 50% of the $6.5 million in funds needed to build the project, we're now turning to our friends, families and partners in the community to help us build this PlayGarden.
The 1½ acre Playgarden is a project celebrating 100th anniversary of The Rotary Club of San Jose by providing equal play for children with special needs, as well as children with parents who have special needs.
Conceptual features:
- Play environments - slides and ramps, swings, a sand play area, climbing opportunities, spinning and/or bouncing items, towers and tunnels
- Safety features – seating and benching for children and parents, visual sight line for parents, access for disabled adults, parents, seniors and children
