Thanks to a community of support, Reunification Ride made monthly trips to Logan prison, and some of Decatur, from May of 2016 until the pandemic stopped everything in February of 2020. Given the cost of those visits, including the 340 mile round trip from Chicago, many families relied on this bus. Not only was Reunification Ride free to participants, it created a broader community of support and services, as well as a richer visit, where moms, kids and caregivers (often maternal grandmas) could eat a meal together, play games, make art and more. Thank you to all who helped make that happen.
Now that (limited) visits inside have resumed, Reunification Ride is coming back! Only we need your help again. We plan to make a trip to Logan this Mother's Day month, and we've got about half the funds we need to make it happen.
Can you help? Any amount moves us closer to our goal. Any support you can offer by encouraging your networks to donate is super helpful too! Let's do this for moms and kids, until all our home again, truly reunited with family and this growing community of support and solidarity.
