From Jesse De la Cruz

As an archive we often think of the idea of the “record” or what will be “recorded” imprinted in history, but this program is all about our records that exist on 12 inch wax.

RECORD to RECORD

As an archive we often think of the idea of the “record” or what will be “recorded”-  imprinted in history, but this program is also about our records that exist on 12 inch wax.

Record to Record combines the intellectual atmosphere of a book club with the world of music. The club brings music lovers together to analyze a new album each month. Participants are invited to explore the selected album’s cultural, political, artistic, and historical impact. Each 90-minute session features guests and a special guest moderator, and attendees are encouraged to listen to the album beforehand and then come prepared to discuss.

We are launching this club on October 29th with David Bowie’s album Black Star. Our Special Guest moderator is a Bruce Trujillo, Host and Promotions Coordinator at Colorado Public Radio’s Indie 102.3. Other special guests include the band Rhamakandra, Maria Buszek and Lisa Gedgaudas.

Give it a spin and join us for a 90 minute exploration of David Bowie’s Black Star. Recordings of this talk will live in the ArtHyve archive and can be accessed after the event.
