NO PROM THIS YEAR?

Local entrepreneur fighting to get Boston high school students a prom

All school year I’ve been teaching entrepreneurship as a BUILD mentor at Another Course to College, a small high school in the Boston Public School system.

Yesterday afternoon during my mentor session, the principal announced via intercom that the prom was cancelled due to high costs and low ticket sales.

I asked Mr. Mee, the teacher of the BUILD class for which I mentor, if I could help put it back on. He put me in touch with Ms. Patrice, an ACC teacher and the prom coordinator.

Here are the particulars and what’s needed:

# of:high school students: 60
# of chaperones: 5 (school will provide)
Date: this Friday, May 23rd
Time: 7-11 pm
Venue: needed (T accessible preferred)
DJ: volunteer needed
Food & Beverage: donations needed, high school appropriate
Ticket price for studnets: $0

Please contact me directly regarding a venue, dj and food & beverage (age appropriate, of course)

All money in excess of the campaign total will be donated to BUILD to continue their excellent work teaching entrepreneurship to disadvantaged high school students nationwide.
