Peyton James Mecham was born on February 7,2014 at 9:04 am. He weighed 3 lbs 15 oz. Peyton was delivered at full term and therefore alerted the doctors to something wrong. After a few days in the hospital they decided to send him to Primary Childrens where he was diagnosed with Uniparental Trisomy Chromosome 6. It is a rare disorder in which neonatal diabetes is present. Only 1 in 100,000 children are born with this condition. Peyton has been in Primary Childrens to this day. He is a fighter and is doing rather well. His family is from Idaho and has therefore been driving back and forth every week, sometimes twice a week. They have 3 other little boys at home in Idaho. It has been a very hard journey on them. As you can imagine, It has been an extremely big financial burden on top of everything else. We are hoping to raise some money to help them with travel and medical expenses. Peytons time in the hospital is still unknown and he is far from over it. He will still continue to have testing as well as the cost for his diabetes care. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated on their behalf.
