Why a Service Dog?
Unlike emotional support animals, service dogs are specially trained to perform tasks that assist individuals with specific medical and psychiatric needs. Quen's service dog will be trained to provide specific assistance with medical tasks (yeah, dogs are THAT smart!).
Quen's service dog will be trained to provide:
- Medical Detection: The dog will help manage Quen's condition by detecting symptoms and providing timely alerts.
- Mobility Support: Assistance with physical tasks to ensure Quen can navigate his environment safely.
- Deep Pressure Therapy (DPT) as needed
About the Training
Service Paws for Awareness, led by trainer Lauryn Luther, is committed to providing highly skilled service dogs. The training program spans 52 weeks and includes foundational skills, task-specific training, and public access preparation. This comprehensive training ensures the dog is fully equipped to support Quen in his daily life.
How You Can Help
Your generous contributions will go directly towards the costs associated with training and placing this service dog with Quen. By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping Quen gain the independence and confidence he needs as he embarks on his college journey.
All proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to an account created for Casper, the super service dog in training. Funds will provide training, upkeep and supplies for sweet Casper through his training and into the next year.
