On September 20, 2025, something special is coming to Lake Fairfax Park: a pledge-driven walk inspired by the 5K fundraising model, celebrating therapy dogs and the comfort they bring to veterans, seniors, children with special needs, and others facing mental health challenges.

Hosted by Canine Concierge Corporation, Paws for Purpose Fairfax is a joyful awareness walk that unites the community around an important mission: to bring trained therapy dogs into hospitals, police departments, senior centers, and crisis centers across Fairfax, Virginia—completely free of charge.

While this event is structured like a 5K walk in format and fundraising approach, it is not a timed race or certified run. Participants walk a marked half-mile trail, raising funds through pledges rather than entry fees alone.

We are raising $20,000 to fund event operations, but this campaign is just the beginning—pledged donations from participants are expected to raise $60,000–$80,000+ in support of Canine Concierge Corporation’s therapy dog programs.

Your tax-deductible donation supports:

- Event safety and logistics- Accessibility and volunteer support- Therapy dog awareness in local media- The launch of two AKC golden retrievers, who will begin their journey toward becoming professionally trained therapy dogs in the months following the campaign.

What You’re Funding:

- Lake Fairfax Park rental + permits- Tents, tables, signage, and communication tech- Off-duty police and EMTs- Media promotion via TV, radio, and print- Volunteer food and shirts- Secure pledge-based registration tools- Service dog ID materials and crowd comfort items
