OARS was founded in late 2024 by a veteran husband and wife team seeking to integrate their knowledge of the natural world with mental and physical health in their remote area of the western Southern Teir of New York. Through outdoor & art experiences, they hope to reconnect their community to each other and the natural world. Veteran peer-to-peer meetings, chronic illness support groups, sylvotherapy (forest bathing), environmental stewardship, and courses for the general public. OARS is seeking capital funds to build their center.
