Mivos Quartet 2024 End-Of-Year Fundraiser

As we prepare for our final concert of 2024 this weekend, we're grateful to look back on a year full of wonderful musical adventures. Mivos curated and performed concerts in Boston, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Utah, Seattle, Austria, Holland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain. We've had the privilege of premiering new works by composers such as Ambrose Akinmusire, David Bird, Joël-François Durand, Georg Vogel, Sarah Hennies, Huck Hodges, Ingrid Laubrock and Neil Thornock. Mivos has premiered dozens of new works by emerging composers in several educational residencies in the US and abroad, as well as regular positions as ensemble-in-residence in summer festivals. Everywhere music takes us, we are continually inspired by the breadth and vitality of new music being written and expressed around the world.

There are many costs involved in running a string quartet - many are not glamorous. Funds raised here will go to our general operating fund, paying for things such as:

• Travel expenses, especially for our 5th member - the cello!
• Our 2 composition prizes: The Mivos/Kanter Prize and Creation Prize
• The Mivos In-house Commission Fund, enabling us to begin funding for new pieces before outside support us secured

Mivos Quartet operates as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation registered in New York City. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
