I will be doing an engineering
internship with TWR International (formerly Trans World Radio) in Bonaire,
which is an island right off the coast of Venezuela in the Caribbean. It is the little island right next to Curacao above Venezuela.
I am studying Mechanical Engineering at California State
University Sacramento but have felt called by God to serve Him in His global
ministry to reach lost people for Christ.
To that end, I have applied and been accepted to TWR’s internship
program to work with their radio tower maintaining department. I will be
helping them test the metal on the towers for corrosion and test the density of
the metal to make sure that the towers are still stable by climbing the 400ft
towers.
Since TWR is a faith-based mission, I am required to find both prayer partners and financial partners to support this ministry. For this 2 month internship, TWR has asked me find twenty regular prayer partners and to raise a total of $5,064 by May 2015. This financial support will cover my work and travel expenses, rent and utilities, orientation, debriefing and administrative fees and provide me with a modest salary to pay for my living expenses and meals.
Information about TWR
TWR
(www.twr.org) is a global media ministry delivering biblical content in over
230 languages by radio, Internet, mobile phones and mp3 players in over 160
countries. Everyday TWR has the opportunity and privilege of “Speaking Hope
to the World” and “Leading
people from doubt, to decision, to discipleship.” TWR uses media to broadcast
the gospel of Christ to people who might not otherwise hear the message of
hope. TWR engages in recording, translating and contextualizing, and
broadcasting biblical messages in the heart language of the listener. TWR
reaches people in the darkest corners of the earth where missionaries (and
sometimes even local pastors) cannot go.
