Hello. Our family has had some unexpected expenses come up with vehicle maintenance and temporary custody as well as a decrease in household income. We are trying to stay afloat but it is getting increasingly difficult. This is a lot and I hate to even create this fundraiser, but we are on the verge of bankruptcy and I just don't know what to do anymore.
Enoc exhausted his unemployment benefits in April and his last payment was May 1, and it was barely over $100. He began going back to school in January and we thought his payments would continue until October, but that is when he can reapply. My income has been our sole source of income since the end of April. He will begin working at the Veteran's Center at the college soon, but we are unsure when that will start. I have several loans in repayment, some that stem from Covid times, and most are 400-600% interest.
We've put off veterinary visits, aside from required shots, for some time now. Even the vaccination visits are heavy on our wallet. Autumn has a questionable growth/mole/bump on her leg that I would like to have looked at, but we simply haven't been able to afford it.
My car has been in and out of the shop since the end of 2023. First, tire replacement - about $400. Then, transmission replacement - $2000. And now, I need need new brakes - $300. I have fallen behind on oil changes. Enoc's car needs a tune up, but we've put it off due to my car's issues.
We recently took temporary custody of Enoc's youngest daughter. We are unsure how long this temporary arrangement will be and we are in dire need of replacing her clothes and shoes here. We also have an increase in food needs in the meantime - she is selective with what she eats due to palette and sensory levels.
