Maluti Adventist Hospital is located in the tiny country of
Lesotho serving patients who often travel great distances to receive the
compassionate care characterized by Adventist institutions worldwide. Dr. Jorge Rodriguez, medical director, and
his wife, also a staff physician, have served at Maluti for fifteen years and
are the parents of Spencerville member, German Rodriguez, giving a personal
connection to the hospital.
In previous
years, the congregation has raised funds for a heating system and laundry
equipment; our 2014 project is for an incubator and oxygen concentrator for the
pediatric ward as well as additional upgrades to the laundry. The hospital only has one incubator and oxygen concentrator which have to be shuttled back and forth between the maternity and pediatric wards. When more than one child needs these devices difficult decisions have to be made as to which child will receive the benifit.
Pastors Willsey & DiPinto visited Maluti
in early December taking with them pillowcases, blankets, and stuffed animals
