After beating Lyme disease myself, I am fulfilling a life long goal of climbing a mountain while raising money for kids with Lyme.

My name is Julie. I have Lyme Disease. I also have had a life long goal of climbing a mountain. I became ill in 2010. It took over 5 years to get an accurate diagnosis, during which my health continued to decline. At the end of 2015, I receive an accurate diagnosis and started treatment. Treatment was difficult but absolutely worth it. As of 2018, I am nearing remission. I feel well. I have started working again. I am doing things I enjoy. I am living my life again.
I've always written in a journal as a way of working through emotions. As I neared the end of treatment, I was reviewing old entries and found one that really impacted me. It said that if I ever figured out what was wrong with me and was able to recover, I had some very specific goals to achieve. One of those goals was to climb a mountain. So...here I go. On September 7, I will climb Mount St Helen's in Washington with some of my core supporters: two friends, my brother, my sister, and my husband.
I am using this as an opportunity to raise funds for a great group: the Liv Lyme Foundation. This group was created by 13 year old Lyme warrior Olivia to raise money for children that cannot afford their Lyme medication and to raise money to find a cure for all of us suffering from Lyme disease. Please check out their site at: http://livlymefoundation.org/
Help me raise money for this group and let's help kids that suffer from Lyme.
