Yoga for At-Risk Youth in NYC
When I moved to New York I began taking yoga classes at my local gym. Six years later, I am a registered Hatha yoga teacher obsessed with the benefits of the practice. I teach before work on Friday mornings at Abhaya Yoga in Brooklyn and this past spring started a free weekly class on Monday nights at the Center Against Domestic Violence.
In my experience, regular yoga is available only to people who can fork over $20 a class. That just ain't right! The Lineage Project, a non-profit group in New York City, is making headway to change that. The Lineage Project brings exceptional yoga and meditation teachers to at-risk and incarcerated youth all around New York City. I joined the board of this group earlier this year.
As a personal favor to me, please take time to watch the 2 minute clip my friend and fellow board member made last year and donate to my fundraising campaign!
With Love and Gratitude,
Lisa
