Help a Local Kids Rideshare Company Expand in Maryland

Lexi's Lil Bug mission is to make parents and guardians lives a little easier by transporting their children around the Baltimore Area anywhere at the drop of a request. We understand how important your children are to your world and the many demands of everyday life such as career demands, school schedule, and enrichment activities. 

A single mom Erika knew, one day at work after a sudden shift change, had to ask herself two questions:

 1. Will I have to quit my job? 

2. How am I going to get my kids to/from school? 

In efforts to help her find services available, Erika quickly learned there weren't many companies providing transportation just for children and within a few months, she formed Lexi's Lil Bug in 2016. Personally Erika remembered as a child, her parents had to travel over an hour to work teaching her and her younger brother independence at an early age. They walked to school in groups and was entrusted to neighbors, including a post office worker to check on them while they were away. 

It all began for Erika as a teenage girl looking for summer income. At about age 12, she began babysitting her younger peers for neighbors and family members. She eventually developed a deep passion for protecting and assisting children taking Early Childhood Education classes.

Lexi's Lil Bug is a children’s rideshare service in Maryland providing parents a peace of mind and stable work life balance. Currently Erika has serviced over 1500 rides since September 2018 transporting kids to/from school and other after-school activities in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area for parents, organizations and caregivers of minors.

How It Works

Lexi’s Lil Bug kids ride-share service offers parents, caregivers and youth organizations the option to reserve recurring scheduled ride slots for the school year or book one time rides through its website and Lexi’s Lil Bug mobile app. 

What matters most? Safety. Every parents biggest concern is the safety and welfare of your child especially in the care of someone you personally don't know. We value your concerns and have gone to great lengths to earn your trust! Let's go over our requirements set in place to become a Personal Courier and caretaker for your children:

• Valid Maryland Driver’s  License
• Clean Background Check completed in line with the lawful guidelines of the State of Maryland.
• Respects and adores all children as if they were their own.
• Must have at least 5 years of childcare experience
• National Sex Offender Registry Check
• Fingerprinted
• Auto Insurance Coverage which meets State of Maryland required Limits.
• Driving Record in Good Standing
• All Fleet Pass Maryland Vehicle Inspection
• Adhere to Code of Conduct Policy; No consumption of drugs or alcohol while driving any motor vehicle. 

Purpose of Fundraiser

Lexi's Lil Bug has reached full capacity impacting the number of students we can serve placing many families on a waiting list for available openings. 

Lexi's Lil Bug is devoted to making sure parents do not have to choose between employment and getting their children to their activities. Erika needs to raise a total of $10,000, with an urgent need of $5000 in the first 14 days of this campaign.

Your contribution will help a small business expand to hire qualified caring drivers, purchase a larger commercial insurance policy, and cover marketing expenses to reach more families.
