"As a black muslim woman, mother, writer, poet, activist, advocate, and aspiring criminal defense attorney, receiving donations from our community assures me that the moments I have missed with my daughter and now grandson are coming to an end. That freedom will once again be my reality, and I know that all that I am, all that I have, and all that I will become is because of the love of community." - Erika
