Kids Konnected Mission: To provide friendship, understanding, education, and support to children and teens who have a parent with cancer or lost a parent to cancer. 

When a parent is diagnosed with cancer, children need age-appropriate education, comfort, and guidance to cope with their emotional needs and mitigate negative behaviors such as chronic depression, school phobia and anxiety. Kids Konnected addresses the needs of children through its cost-free Support Groups, with the objectives to educate, reduce feelings of isolation, anxiety, and depression. By teaching effective coping skills, Kids Konnected keeps children co-survivors on track with their own life, preventing emotional crisis.    

All programs at Kids Konnected are free of charge and include: support groups, bereavement workshops, summer camps, care packages, and cancer educational books. Kids Konnected's goal is to minimize the negative effects experienced by families experiencing a parent's cancer. We are one of only a few organizations in in the country addressing the emotional needs of the children during the illness, when destructive behaviors begin and when families can truly learn positive growth. Some support systems focus solely on adult co-survivors, or solely on bereavement. Other local low-cost support programs focus on the individual in the short-term without offering ongoing group support and camaraderie through programs offered at Kids Konnected, such as summer camp, youth leadership training, and peer-oriented meetings.

Since 1993 Kids Konnected has served over 6,750 children, teens and parents in Orange County providing cost-free, age-appropriate, group support; and served over 24,000 nationwide with educational care packages.
