I'm raising funds to cover the cost of tuition, transportation, and food for the Juniper Summer Writing Institute, for which I've already received a $500 scholarship.

There’s good news and bad news. But first I’ll start with a thank you. You’ve trusted me with your money, shown me that you believe in me, my work, and my goals. That means so, so much to me. So thank you, donors.
The bad news: we did not raise enough money to get me to the Juniper Summer Writing Institute. I ceded my spot for the waitlisted authors with the means to go.
The good news: at around the same time I got my acceptance to Juniper, I received a Lambda Fellowship for the Lambda Literary Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices.
The Retreat was established in 2007 and is the first of its kind ever offered to LGBTQ writers: a one-week intensive immersion in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, genre fiction and playwriting. The Retreat is an unparalleled opportunity to be mentored by the very best writers in the LGBTQ community, to develop one’s craft, make connections with publishing industry professionals and build a strong community of peers.
As part of the nonfiction cohort, I would participate in workshops with Emily Danforth, author of the bestselling coming of age novel, The Miseducation of Cameron Post—which, apart from getting a movie adaptation this year, is also one of the best novels I've read.
This opportunity is even more world-changing for me than the Juniper Institute would've been. It's Emily Danforth! It's in California! It costs almost half of what Juniper would've, and they cover room and board! So if you believe I can make it, and you want this dream to come true for me, please allow me to keep your donation, and please consider donating more at:

However, if you would prefer to get your money back, message me directly and I will return your donation, no questions asked.
I’ve been selected to receive a scholarship from Fiction Collective 2 towards the Juniper Summer Writing Institute! It’s a weeklong program hosted by UMass Amherst that gathers a community of writers to explore the creative process and develop new approaches to the craft of writing—with daily craft sessions, workshops, and readings by award-winning authors and writers in residence.
I’m really, really excited to go! Unfortunately, the scholarship only covers about a third of the tuition, so I have to come up with $2,000 to cover the rest of tuition, transportation, and food. And if you live in or near Amherst, you could really help me out with a place to stay.
I'm also offering special rewards for donors!
