God has given me an amazing opportunity to partner with what He is doing with His servants in Mexico this summer. I ask that you would pray and partner with me as well.

I have an opportunity this summer to be the “salt of the earth” in a very special way!
During junior year of high school, God began birthing in me a heart for the Spanish culture and its people. I met my sister in Christ, Myrna De La Rosa, while volunteering at an Operation Christmas Child plant here in GA in 2012. She shared her story with the volunteers of how she had personally seen those shoeboxes positively affect children in her area of Torreón, Mexico. She has an inspiring love for the Lord like no other and a great love for the people around her. Ever since meeting her, I have been building a personal relationship with her and she has welcomed me with open arms to come serve alongside her and her husband in Torreón with their summer Bible Camp.
For the entire month of July 2014, I will be in Torreón with mi Hermana Myrna, Lord-willing. Her camp ministry is called “Congregacion en el Desierto (Congregation in the Desert).” I would be spending the first week or two there finalizing camp preparations and the rest of my stay would be spent conducting the camp and helping with the kids.
Every day, the Lord is teaching me what it looks like to not live for myself. He’s revealing to me that there is so much more to live for than myself or the things of this life. Along with that, He’s been placing desires in my heart that are bigger than myself, God-sized if you will. I believe this is one of those desires. When people ask me why I am an Education major & Spanish minor and why I take some 18 hour semesters to do both, my answer boils down to Christ and the fact that He has transformed my heart and put those passions in there that I cannot ignore. “For [I am] God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for [me] to do.” – Ephesians 2:10
Ultimately, I just want to be about the Lord’s business and partner with what He is doing. I am asking that you would partner with me as well. Logistically, my trip would run about $800. However, I want to be a blessing to the ministry that I am partnering with in Mexico and so I am seeking to raise $1000 by July. It would be enough to pay my way, with every excess penny getting sown into the ministry there.
Guys, I am excited to see the Lord work! I recently received my passport in the mail and could not stop grinning, ha. I would greatly covet your prayers for myself, this endeavor, and the ministry team there in Mexico.
