Jacob’s Heart is a non-profit that is very near and dear
to my heart. Every year my family tries to do their part during the holiday
season by helping to make a difference in another family’s life. This year I
wanted to challenge myself to not only adopt a family and participate in
wrapping donated gifts, but to make a monetary donation that can be utilized
for additional resources. So, I thought I’d have some fun with fundraising this
year! On Sunday I will be running the Monterey Bay Half Marathon.
The Challenge: Every mile I run under 9 minutes is
a dollar donated.
That’s it! I will track my run on Strava as proof of my
performance and send to whoever wants to participate, after the race. I figure
if I can gather a sizable group who is willing to contribute, then we’d be able
to donate a nice amount to help children and families that may not have it as
good as we do this holiday season.
Hey, the worst that could happen is I run like a gazelle
and you’re out $13 bucks… I’m ready for that challenge!
