In keeping with the ethos of “Manav Seva hi Madhav Seva” (Service to humanity is service to God), the Ambani family commenced the wedding festivities with a Samuhik Vivah, solemnizing the marriages of 50 underprivileged couples at Reliance Corporate Park. Over 800 guests participated, with the Ambani family personally blessing each newlywed couple.
Additionally, a community kitchen (Bhandara) operated alongside the celebrations for three weeks, serving over 1,000 meals daily—reflecting the family’s commitment to service and compassion.
The multi-day celebration wove together a rich array of rituals and cultural expressions:
Mosalu: A Gujarati tradition where the groom’s maternal uncle presents gifts known as Mameru.
Valley of Gods: Devotional dance performances led by Nita Ambani at the Jamnagar temple complex, reflecting a mother’s love and Indian spiritual artistry.
Sangeet: A joyous musical evening where family members, including Mukesh and Nita Ambani, celebrated through dance and song.
Grah Shanti & Randal Maa Puja: Sacred ceremonies invoking Lord Ganesha and the nine planetary deities for marital harmony and cosmic alignment.
Peethi/Haldi: A joyful turmeric ceremony, bringing families together in laughter and tradition.
Bhajans & Shiv Shakti Puja: A deeply spiritual observance celebrating the balance of divine energies.
The Wedding: The Vedic marriage rites, performed with sacred fire (Agni), elders, and dharmagurus bearing witness to the holy union.
Wedding Receptions: A series of receptions over three days welcomed friends, partners, and associates, with one special reception dedicated entirely to household staff, including housekeeping, security, and operations teams—a gesture of humility and gratitude.
The wedding décor, themed “An Ode to Banaras,” immersed global dignitaries in the soul of Varanasi. The Jio World Centre was transformed into a vibrant re-creation of the ancient city’s ghats, streets, and artisanal legacy, giving guests a multi-sensory experience of India’s sacred heart.
The dress code, “Resplendently Indian,” encouraged guests to adorn themselves in traditional Indian attire, resulting in a stunning display of colors, weaves, and craftsmanship.
