6th Annual Veterans Thanksgiving

******Help us feed Homeless Veterans for Thanksgiving AGAIN for the 6th year!******"I didn't expect any of this...I didn't even expect you to show up because many people don't. Last year someone said they were going to help us for Thanksgiving and we are still waiting for them, I had to go and get some sandwiches for the guys. This is beyond anything I could have ever imagined for these men."- George, The VetsVille Ceasfire House for Homeless Veterans House Manager on Thanksgiving 2014, the 1st year we made them a Thanksgiving meal.

The founders of the Non-Profit I AM ADAPTIVE™ are pulling in all help they can get to feed the Homeless U.S. Veterans that are staying at the VetsVille Ceasefire House in West palm Beach, Florida.

The last 5 years we were able to raise enough to provide, cook & leave these veterans with:

 1-2 turkeys

- A massive ham

- Rolls out the wazoo

- Gravy for days

- Mashed Potatoes

 - Green beans

- Candied yams

- Any needed holiday condiment

- Cranberry sauce

- Little table heaters to keep everything warm

- Place settings and silverware

- Canned goods they needed

- Dairy

- Fruits

- Vegetables

- Drinks

- Desserts

PLUS:

- Sheets

- Undies

- Socks

- Shirts

- Jackets

- Pots & pans set

- Whatever else they needed

 HOW DID WE FIND VETSVILLE ?

It was the middle of October 2014, just 1 month after we created I AM ADAPTIVE™, and Co-Founder Evyn Zosia was passing through the house doing some laundry when he overheard the news on the television say, "A veteran robs a bank in West palm Beach just so he could have a warm meal and a place to lay his head." 

Evyn filled with tears and ran for a piece of paper to write down any information that he could on the man. A blonde came on and spoke of how this is such a huge problem and that he would be helping the man...a short image was shown and he was able to get the name "Vetsville Ceasefire House" with owner Chris Noel

.Evyn proceeded to Google them and find their website & contact info. We wanted to give them everything that we could, which wasn't much at the time..heck we hadn't even sold our first shirt to raise money yet (after incorporating as a non-profit in Florida). But, when we started IAA we stopped caring about our needs & Thanksgiving was coming......we had the NEED to make sure at any cost that these Veterans were fed, happy and loved. We called the Vetsville Ceasefire House and asked if anyone was bringing them food on Thanksgiving and how many people were going to be in the house, they said no. The house manager was so sweet and happy.

The next month we raised money in the community by having food donation boxes at 2 CrossFit gyms and signing people up to get turkeys, hams and assigning people cooking duties for the actual day. On thanksgiving day we all (about 20 of us) met at the house at 11:30 to finish cooking at the Vestville house and to set up tables and anything they needed. The house manager pulled me aside, after about 40 minutes of people conversing with the Veterans and having a great time, and with amazement plus some tears in his eyes he told me, "I didn't expect any of this...I didn't even expect you to show up because many people don't. -Any donation provided goes directly to Vetsville House For Homeless Veterans.-We will be raising money up thru Thanksgiving Day!

- All donations go directly to Vetsville Ceasefire House providing these Veterans a Thanksgiving Meal. Any left over will go to buying the men clothing, house tools and special needs that they can not currently provide for themselves.
