Housing Fund

After being laid off last year, my partner and I have done everything possible to keep a roof over our heads. Despite our best efforts, seeking rental assistance, working with legal aid, and staying in close communication with our landlord, we had to leave our apartment on June 30th as part of a mediated agreement. We fully complied, but now we’re in a hotel, uncertain of what comes next and running out of options fast.

We are both working (I’m full-time at Microsoft in Redmond, my partner works part-time at a local grocery store), but strict rental criteria and a court record on our screening have made finding stable housing nearly impossible. We’re doing everything we can, but the cost of temporary housing, deposits, and application fees is overwhelming.

If we’re fortunate enough to meet our goal and have our needs covered, we promise to pay it forward by donating any remaining funds to the Peoples Exchange in Callow, Bremerton, to help others in crisis.
