The Hilander Hall of Fame is to recognize excellence across five distinct categories:
- Academic: Kelso High School
graduate who has shown extraordinary meritorious achievements in the
academia world including in academic and vocational education
competitions and organizations
- Athletics: Kelso High School graduate who performed with excellence in high school sports and/or post-graduation.
- Distinguished Alumni:
Kelso High School graduate who has distinguished themselves in an
exceptional manner that reflects positively the values and beliefs of
Kelso High School. Sub-categories include: Arts & Entertainment,
Business & Industry, Community, Education, Government, Health Care,
Law Enforcement, Other
- Distinguished Service: Any
former or current teacher, staff, administrator, school board member,
community member, youth sports coach/coordinator that directly impacts
Kelso High School programs, or a friend of Kelso School District who has
provided extraordinary meritorious services to/for the high school and
demonstrated a duty of great responsibility.
- Team/Group/Collective: Kelso
High School team, group, or collective effort that performed with
excellence relative to peer groups during Kelso High School years.
Organization
The
intention of this endeavor is to create an organizational entity and
processes that distribute the decision-making power of the Hilander Hall
of Fame (HHoF) to both the community of Kelso and its school alumni.
The core body responsible for this organization are the Trustees.
The
Trustees of Hilander Democracy are authorized to protect the sanctity
and validity of the Hilander Hall of Fame on behalf of the community.
Their responsibilities may include safeguarding the vote, updating
processes for nominations and voting, adjudicating disputes,
communicating results of the votes to the public, and more.

NOMINATIONS
Eligibility
for nominating is any entity who pays the nomination fee can make a
nomination. There are no additional criteria preventing entities from
nominating individuals to the HHoF. The price per nomination is:
- Individual: $1
- Family: $10
- Company/Organization: $50
- Entities
can provide more than this to nominate but any extra contribution is
considered a donation and does not yield extra nominating power.
VOTING
The
voting pool is any individual, family, or company/organization who pays
the voting fee outlined below. There are no additional criteria
preventing entities from voting. For a vote to be considered valid, a
payment must be successfully made to the group running the HHoF. Payment
amounts are set to:
- Individual: $5
- Family: $50
- Company/Organization: $100
- Entities
can provide more than this to vote but any extra contribution is
considered a donation and does not yield extra voting power.
