Meet Poppy, a sweet and gentle pup who was found last week at Edward Vincent Park in Inglewood. She was wandering alone, wearing a collar but no tags. After checking for a microchip, we learned she didn't have one. We spent the next week searching for her owner, posting signs and listings, but no one came forward. Given the circumstances, we believe she may have been abandoned.

While fostering Poppy, we discovered that she may have suffered an injury or has a condition preventing her from fully opening her jaw. This has caused some difficulty eating and impairs her ability to pant effectively, which is crucial for regulating her body temperature and cooling down. We took her to an emergency animal hospital, but the costs were high, and they advised seeing a primary care vet. We're currently looking for more affordable options for the necessary exams, including X-rays, bloodwork, and sedation.

Poppy is around 1 year old, house-trained, and gets along well with kids and other dogs. Despite her current condition, she is such a loving girl who we believe deserves a second chance at a happy life. However, with potential medical bills, rehoming her has become a challenge. That's why we are asking for your help.

We’ve started this campaign to cover her medical expenses and provide her with the care she needs to live a full and healthy life. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in giving Poppy the chance for a loving future.

In the short time that we’ve known Poppy, she has cracked our hearts wide open. A little bit about her: she loves cuddles, staring deep into your eyes, giving big bear hugs with both paws wrapped around your shoulders, sitting on your lap despite being a 50 lb Labrador, and, of course, belly rubs.

We’d keep her ourselves (in fact, we’d love to and wish we could!), but with two other reactive dogs and a toddler at home, it’s a responsibility we unfortunately can’t take on now. That said, Poppy deserves the world and we’ll do everything we can to find her a family that will give it to her.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
