My name is Ny’Kole Krivda, and I am the proud Founder and
CEO of Auesome Care, LLC, a residential and vocational community created to
serve one of society’s most overlooked and underserved populations: adults with
developmental and intellectual disabilities.
This mission is not just professional for me; it’s deeply
personal.
I have a sibling who is developmentally challenged. Due to
adoption, we were separated for many years. When we finally reconnected, I
learned of the many challenges he faced navigating life with minimal support,
lacking basic life skills, and without a sustainable plan for independence.
What troubled me most was the thought of what would happen if his caregivers
were no longer there. And then I asked myself: How many others like my brother
are out there unseen, unsupported, and unprepared for the future?
What I found was staggering.
In Florida alone, there are more than 22,000 individuals
with developmental disabilities currently in need of support. Across the United
States:
• 1 in 6 children have a developmental disability.
• 1 in 31 children have been diagnosed with autism spectrum
disorder.
• Between 2019 and 2021, the rate of diagnosed developmental
disabilities in children aged 3–17 rose from 7.4% to 8.56%.
• Adults with disabilities face significantly higher housing
cost burdens than those without disabilities.
• Life expectancy for individuals with developmental
disabilities has increased to nearly 70 years, a dramatic rise from just 22
years in 1931, yet our systems and support structures haven’t kept up with this
progress.
These are not just statistics; they are stories of forgotten
citizens. Not because their families don’t care, but because the systems meant
to support them haven’t evolved. They are often hidden in plain sight, with no
plan, no resources, and no roadmap for a dignified life.
Auesome Care was born out of this reality and out of
profound love for my brother and the thousands like him who deserve more. More
opportunities. More support. More dignity. More community.
Our vision is to create a safe, structured, and empowering
residential community made up of small homes, therapeutic care, vocational
training, and skill-building resources. A place where developmentally
challenged adults are not just housed, they are seen, nurtured, and given the
tools to live independently and with purpose.
To bring this vision to life, I am seeking funding and
strategic partnerships to support the initial phase of this life-changing
project. These funds will help with land acquisition, zoning, licensing,
staffing, and construction of our first pilot homes.
With over 20 years of experience in HR, business strategy,
and organizational leadership, I bring the skills and operational know-how to
lead this initiative, but more importantly, I bring heart, vision, and purpose.
Auesome Care is not just a facility; it’s a movement. A call to action to
ensure that no individual is left behind because of their differences.
Together, we can create something extraordinary.
Together, we can ensure that individuals like my brother and the tens of
thousands like him are no longer forgotten, but embraced, supported, and set up
to thrive.
