Hello from a LITERAL STARVING ARTIST

To whom it may concern,

My name is David Johnson, and before anything else, I wish to extend my deepest gratitude. The kindness and support from my family and friends hav4⁴rttťyye been my lifeline, guiding me through the darkest nights. Without them, I don’t know where I’d be.

Today, I reach out with an open heart, sharing my story and humbly asking for your help. Fifteen years ago, I fought my way out of the darkness of addiction, finding sobriety and a love I felt I didn’t deserve. But in the arrogance of thinking I had it all figured out, I stumbled down a path that led to greater struggles—losing friends, homes, and dreams.

Yet, in the depths of my struggles, I found a spark of hope—art. Acrylic pouring became my sanctuary, a place where I could heal through creation. But life’s challenges have not ceased. My health has declined, anxiety and depression weigh heavily, and daily tasks have become insurmountable. Despite these hardships, the spark within me remains, though it grows dim.

My disability case drags on, and my resources have dwindled. I survive only through my mother’s love and sacrifice, but her support alone can’t sustain us. I come to you, not just in need, but with a vision—to rebuild my life, to create art not just to survive but to thrive.

Your generosity would help cover basic living expenses—rent, food, medicine—and give me the chance to return to my art, to sell my paintings, and create a source of income. I don’t seek to squander donations on art supplies alone; I seek to regain my footing and use my craft to rebuild my life. If financial help is beyond your means, your prayers and positive thoughts mean the world to me, and I will remember your kindness when my disability is approved.

To donors, your contribution is more than just a gift; it is a step toward reclaiming a life that still has beauty left to give. You’ll receive a receipt for your donation, which can be written off at tax time, and I will forever be grateful.

Thank you for your time, understanding, and kindness. I hope life has been kinder to you, but if it hasn’t, know that you are not alone. May we all find our way through the struggles we face.

With sincere thanks and hope,

David Johnson
