I’m on disability, and nearly half my income goes to rent. I’m struggling to keep up and need help covering rent so I can catch up on other bills and avoid falling behind. Any support means the world—thank you!

My name is Lindsey but I prefer to go by Chance (They/Them), and I’m reaching out for help during one of the hardest times I’ve faced.
I’m currently living on a fixed disability income, and nearly half of what I receive each month goes straight to rent. That leaves very little for other essentials — groceries, utilities, or the stack of overdue bills that just keeps growing. I’ve done everything I can to stretch what I have, but I’m falling behind and running out of options.
I’m asking for $1,000 to help cover my rent and catch up on basic bills like electricity and internet. These aren’t luxuries — they’re what keep my home livable and help me stay connected to support and vital services.
I live with my sweet cat, Butters, who’s been my emotional support and comfort through all of this. Keeping a safe, stable home isn’t just for me — it’s for Butters, too. He deserves a calm, warm place to curl up at the end of the day, just like I do.
It’s hard to ask for help, but I’ve reached the point where I truly can’t do this on my own. Every dollar you give goes directly toward keeping a roof over our heads and giving us a chance to breathe and reset.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping however you can — it means more than I can put into words.
