Since 2017, Developing Youth through Sports, Social Skills, and Arts (DYSA), has helped 40+ boys and girls participate in Youth Travel Ball events and mentoring activities in our community. These boys and girls go on to be productive and successful students at their elementary, middle, high school, and college. More importantly, they were given the chance to develop confidence, to feel wanted, and to develop dreams for their future; dreams that have included becoming engineers, accountants, doctors, lawyers, business owners, and politicians.
Lats Spring, May 2020, we had our first class of graduates. They are attending the following schools; Caldwell Tech (Basketball), Fayetteville State (Football), UNC Pembroke (Football), Shaw U. (Football), Johnston CC, UNC Greensboro, and the US Army.
Our goal for 2021 is to promote our athletes by providing them with opportunities to play the game in which they love and to gain valuable life skills. As the pandemic (COVID-19) put a cease to the nation and the world, we were hit tremendously with our annual fundraiser last Spring and Summer, only raising 5% of our goal. As we start our Spring 2021 campaign, we are seeking donations and or sponsorships to assist us with travel and costs associated with the upcoming tournaments, college visits, service learning projects, equipment, and the necessary PPE items such as masks and sanitizer. We are a NC registered not-for-profit organization.
