The province of Cebu, Philippines is a COVID-19 hotspot and Kawayan Collective is helping our community prepare by supporting health care infrastructure. Temporary isolation facilities for vulnerable populations who have no place to isolate have been set up in local high school gymnasiums.
Kawayan Collective is fundraising and building bamboo beds for local isolation facilities. Twenty beds have been donated so far with another forty to to be produced in the next two weeks.
Using local bamboo, the donated beds are keeping people safely employed throughout quarantine via sourcing the raw material, production and delivery of the finished beds. The Kawayan Collective team is happy to play a part in fighting the pandemic!
