DMVCODE is comprised of former JOMDC dance instructors who have combined forces to help their colleagues through this time! We are committed to help lead DMV dance education into a new phase...
...BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!
On 4/9/2020, approximately 70 dance instructors at Joy of Motion Dance Center with studios in Washington, DC & Maryland lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic. Their livelihood was lost and connections to their students came to a halt. Support is needed so that these teachers may continue to inspire the lives of the students they care for so deeply, and so that their living conditions are not interrupted during this uncertain time.
We ask for your donations to help our educators keep afloat in this time of distress.
Your donation will go towards basic needs such as:
- Rent payments
- Groceries
- Utilities
- Instructor's Childcare needs
- Financial needs that can no longer be met due to the pandemic
Additional needs to teach from home:
- Subscriptions to facilitate online teaching
- Ballet Barres to assist in demonstration
- Safe Flooring for jumping and demonstrating
- Equipment to effectively communicate online (lav mics, webcams, etc)
Whether you can donate $1, $50, or $500, any amount is helpful and appreciated! Our goal is to make sure dance educators are taken care of. Alleviating financial stress will aid in teachers' ability to focus on the thing they love - sharing the language of dance with their students!
