Our family would like to announce the beginning of something
very special to us, the Callan D. Costa Foundation.
For us, the grief of our loss has encompassed two realms, the
horrific pain of losing Callan followed by the pain of having to move
forward. How are we supposed to continue our lives with Callan not physically
with us? It seems impossible. However, we haven't been given a choice; the
world, somehow, has continued to go on whether or not we've wanted it to. We
have known since the beginning that the only way we can go forward is if we are
honoring our boy, sharing his legacy, and making him proud. As difficult as it
can be, we want everyone talking about Callan, saying his name, telling stories
about him, and as his parents, it is up to us to make sure that happens. We
have been blown away by many others using Callan's legacy to help those in need
- Beach Days For All (Callan's Way), The Callan Costa Achievement Award
(Scholarship), Callan's Character Crew at Ocean Road Elementary School, Plain
White Tee's Day at Abilities In Action, and now it's our turn.
The Callan D. Costa Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that will
financially assist families of children 0-18 years old with Cerebral Palsy, and other motor-related disabilities. Children who have special needs are some of the most incredible,
inspiring people in the world, and they deserve every opportunity possible.
However, as we experienced firsthand, the costs incurred by various therapies,
equipment, and doctors can be debilitating. Our dream is that through Callan's
legacy we can help these children get whatever assistance they deserve while
taking away some of the financial burden that the families ultimately face in
providing it for them.
Pease follow us on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/cdcfoundation0615/) for up to date information on our upcoming events. In the meantime, we have created this page on Fundly.com for anyone that wants to join in our mission of helping those superheroes out
there that need our assistance. Thank you for all of the love and support
our family continues to receive; it has lifted us up and allowed us to get to
this point, and we are so grateful.
Love,
Joey, Shana, Chase, Cove, and Cade Costa
