Long story short my x-husband went against our court order and secretly moved our 2 young boys from Oregon to Iowa with no prior notice. Having to deal with state lines, the $ burden of getting them back is now on me.

Hi, I'm a mom to two beautiful young men ages 9 & 11 with my ex-husband. We divorced in 2019, establishing custody and parenting time. I have been defending myself to keep my time with our boys for several years now. I have taken this man to court for enforcement of my parenting time on at least 4 different occasions in the last 2 1/2 years, with no tangible consequences to him for what he's done despite my pleadings to our judges. I have been too broke to afford a lawyer, so I have been representing myself Pro Se, with the exception of our initial divorce. The last time that he simply stole my time from me, I was awarded FULL LEGAL custody, meaning that I now make all major decisions pertaining to their lives. I'm here today because he finally and suddenly uprooted them and left the state of Oregon to Iowa against our existing custody order, only filing a change of residency and leaving the same day. I didn't even find out until days after he had left with them. So I filed paperwork, got a court date and went to court in which he was ordered to return the boys by December 3rd. He did not return them so I had to file MORE paperwork and do the same process again. This time I was granted a Writ Of Assistance. The problem with this is that this is a Writ Of Assistance for my county in Oregon and I spoke with an officer here about what enforcing it looks like. His words to me were "anytime that I've needed to enforce a Writ Of Assistance, the person who requested it has always been there to put the children in the car to drive away with them." When he said that, MY HEART SUNK. I do not have the funds to go half way across the country (1700 miles to be exact) via any mode of transportation... So I tried to get CPS to open a case, hoping that they would help me get our children home... They decided not to do so. And yes I have applied to Legal Aid. I used them for my initial divorce and have since been denied help. Our boys have been dropped from school and are not currently enrolled because they've missed too much school due to being moved from the area that they reside. The quicker we can get them home, the faster I can get them re-enrolled.
It's looking like I will bare the financial burden of the attempted parental alienation that I've been fighting, therefore will have to crowd-fund in order to make a trip to Iowa in order to get my boys back to Oregon where they should've been this whole time, but were abducted from. All I want for Christmas is for this fight to be over and to be able to hug them again. My heart hurts for them. Please help if you can. Funds will go to gas and food for the trip, or a two way plane ticket for myself and a one way ticket for both of our boys, food and cheap lodging if needed, and a rental car/Uber if needed. Any funds left over will be put toward the retainer of a local family law lawyer. No parent who demonstrates they want to be there for their children should ever have to go through this. Orders are pointless if authorities make you go through lengthy court processes to barely enforce them if at all, unless they have tangible consequences... Here in Oregon, sadly they don't. Hoping to have OUR boys back before Christmas. All I want is to hug them again, please help and share this fundraiser if you can. Thank you in advance.
