2025 is Bikes Across Borders' 25th Anniversary !
Since 2000 , volunteers have been taking donated bikes , repairing them, and riding them to Mexico to donate to worker's in Mexico in order to use as a cheaper transportation alternative. We have partnered with and worked with the Mexican labor union C.F.O. (Comite Fronterizo de Obreras ) since the beginning and have donated hundreds of bikes to be used by workers' in order to commute to their jobs as an alternative to expensive transportation costs. We have primarily worked with the C.F.O. in border cities along the Texas/Mexico border but have also worked with donated to groups in Monterey. We have also donated funds to support workers and for our 25th Anniversary we are trying to raise $5,000 in to help families along the Mexican border .
