Bey was rescued at 8 weeks old. She was the inspiration and backbone of Wags and Weights. Her favorite pastimes include chasing the ball at the park, snuggling with mom, and eating. She has lived an amazing 3 years, but recently has had to halt all activity because of her knee problems. Standing, walking, and most activities cause her pain and discomfort.
In November 2016, Bey was diagnosed with bilateral cruciate ligament disease. A very fancy way of saying her ACL in both knees are torn. Her right leg is significantly worse than her left and will need surgery immediately. I am hopeful that if we can perform surgery on one knee and rehab properly, the left one can be saved, and ultimately she will live a longer, healthier, pain free life.
I looked for many different options and unfortunately due to her size and condition of the knees, the only procedure that can be done is TPLO surgery. I have spoken with the surgeon and the cost of this procedure is about $4,000. As a small business owner, this amount of money is significant.
